About Cedar Hill Retreats...

“The rush and pressure of modern life are a form,
perhaps the most common form,
of its innate violence.”
- Thomas Merton

Cedar Hill Retreats provides the location and leadership necessary for individuals or groups to take quiet time out of their busy schedules for spiritual contemplation, personal improvement, or focused group development. Weekend overnights and weekday get-aways are available with food and lodging provided. Retreats may be led by Sandy Stone, by your own facilitator, or by an expert we can bring in just for your group. Click here for more information on our programs.

From Sandy:

Jesus called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits. … They cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them.

The apostles gathered around Jesus, and told him all that they had done and taught. He said to them, ‘Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while.’ For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. And they went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves. - Mark 6:6-7,30-32

The wise words of Jesus inviting us to “come away to a deserted [quiet] place” provide an antidote to the violence we encounter in our every day fast paced lives. A retreat to a “quiet place” offers us the possibility of rest, and of healing, and of transformation. A retreat gives us the chance to evaluate our lives and rearrange our priorities. Most of all, a retreat provides us a time in which we may grow in our relationship with God.

God transformed my own life through time on retreats. I have witnessed others’ reception of God’s miraculous power and grace during retreats over the years, so much so, it has been a long-standing dream of mine to create retreat center in central Kentucky.

Cedar Hill Retreat Center is in the process of coming into existence as I write these words. Cedar Hill offers a quiet place with glorious trees, open sky, wildflower fields, and a tranquil pond. One may come to Cedar Hill to take long walks, sit by the pond or spend time rocking in one of our many rocking chairs on the long porch overlooking the meadow. We offer guided retreats, group retreats on various topics and retreats of solitude. Cedar Hill is a place to rest; it is a place to pray; it is a place to experience God in God’s grandest cathedral, that of nature.

Cedar Hill Retreat Center serves a critical need in today’s culture. We believe our hectic day-to-day existence strives to extinguish the divine spark that resides in all of us. At Cedar Hill that spark of divinity is given space to grow into the roaring transformative flame of God. We invite you to come and visit us. Experience for yourself our wonderful God in nature.

We do need your help to make this ministry all that God calls it to be. Please click here if you would like to make a financial contribution or if you would like to support Cedar Hill with your time and talent.

Thank you for your prayers and support.
The Rev. Sandy Stone
